Description
Thyme pays homage to the many and talented designers of double enders. It is my hope she would make the likes of Robert Perry, K. Agae Nielson and Phil Rhodes proud. There are many others - too many to mention, but them as well.
Thyme is a sloop rigged day boat. Her low prismatic coefficient keeps her moving in light air. Beating to wind, I give her every advantage; a deep centerboard and non-overlapping fractional rig.
Her sloop rig is modern with aluminum spars and stainless steel rope wire for shrouds and stays. I drew her with a hank-on jib, but a roller-reefer would work nicely too. Running backstays serve to keep the rig up off the wind, and also to de-power her with the wind increases.
